Kaben's underlying technology is based in five key areas:

Programmable Intermediate Frequency Strip (PIFS Technology)
These Programmable IF Strips are made up of Kaben's SIF, DIF and synthesizer building blocks (see below) to create Transceivers of unsurpassed performance and flexibility. PIFS offer field programmable IF frequency, bandwidth, and gain, to enable software defined radios, or to allow “switching on the fly” between several standards.
Programmable On-chip Filter Technology (SIF)
Kaben's unique on-chip programmable filter technology performs a multitude of SAW-like filtering operations in a receiver without the need for external SAW filters. The SIF provides channel select filtering, image reject filtering, anti-aliasing filtering, AGC, sampling, and output digitization. Inherent in the SIF architecture is zero group delay distortion performance. Also, the SIF has the capability to simultaneously receive non-adjacent channels and to “re-pack” them into adjacent channels in its baseband. These unparallelled levels of capability enables highly reconfigurable, high performance receivers
Digital-to-Intermediate-Frequency Converters (DIF)
The Digital-to-IF Converters use digital techniques and FIR technology to vastly improve the up-converters in transmitters. The digital baseband input is directly converted to IF with no distortion resulting from I/Q imbalance. The DIF can also provide high image rejection and single-sideband suppression, and enables adaptive pre-distortion to optimize a transmitter's external power amplifier.
ΔΣ Frequency Synthesizers
Kaben's synthesizer capability is unmatched in the industry. Having extremely low phase noise, spurious response and jitter, in addition to very fine frequency selectivity and fast tuning, means that our delta-sigma synthesizer core is able to address any requirement.
Digital
Our digital system and gate level/RTL design expertise in Place and Route and ARM microprocessor integration compliments Kaben's extensive RF and analog capability.
