Ottawa, ON – November 23, 2011 – Kaben Wireless Silicon Inc. (“Kaben”) an industry leading provider of high performance mixed-signal IP, announced that members of its technical staff have contributed to a recently released book titled, Digital Front-End in Wireless Communications and Broadcasting: Circuits and Signal Processing, published by Cambridge University Press.
Dr. Norm Filiol, Kaben’s Chief Architect, Robert Klett, a member of Technical Staff, and Tom Riley, Kaben’s CTO and Founder, have contributed a chapter called Programmable discrete-time integrated receiver front-ends.
The authors present an integrated FM/AM super-heterodyne receiver as an example of a programmable discrete-time integrated receiver front-end.
The chapter explains how sampling-based radio receivers can have reduced power consumption in analog-to-digital conversion, increased selectivity and programmability. They further demonstrated that a programmable discrete-time integrated receiver is an enabling technology for Software Defined Radios in various applications.
